Vice-President Boris Novakovic

Boris Novakovic was elected the Vice-President of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina at the constitutive session of the Assembly held on April 25, 2024.

He is a member of the  and a member of the Deputies’ Group “Serbian Socialist Party (SPS) - Unique Serbia (JS)” in the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.

Biography

He was born in Tuzla, on 15 October 1989.

He attended the first two primary school grades at “Jovan Jovanović Zmaj” school in Subotica and the rest of his primary schooling at “Sveti Sava” school in Modriča. He completed his secondary schooling at “Jovan Cvijić” Secondary School Centre in Modriča. He got his undergraduate and Master degrees at the Faculty of Economics in Subotica, University of Novi Sad, study programme Finance, Banking and Insurance and was awarded the title Master of Economics, in 2015. 

During his studies, he actively participated in the student organisations’ activities as their founder and president. He was also a member of the Subotica Faculty of Economics’ Student Parliament for several terms, served as the president of the Student Parliament, a member of the Teaching-Scientific Council, a member of Subotica Faculty of Economics’ Council and a student vice-dean. He served one term as the president of the Student Parliament and a member of the Senate of the University of Novi Sad, as well as a member of the Student Conference of Universities of Serbia (SKONUS) Assembly. 

He commenced his professional career in 2015, at the "Novi Sad" Healthcare Centre, in Novi Sad, where he was in charge of financial operations, and in 2018, he was appointed the head of the financial and accounting department. He was an employee representative member of the "Novi Sad" Healthcare Centre’s Supervisory Board. Since 2024, he has been employed with public enterprise Srbijagas. 

During his term of office 2020 - 2023 in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina (APV) Assembly, Mr Novaković served as the president of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) - United Serbia Parliamentary Group, and was a member of the Administrative and Youth and Sports Committees of the APV Assembly. During his term, he was also a deputy president of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Assembly of the Republic of Srpska.

He has been actively engaged in politics since 2013, firstly as a youth activist, then as the president of the Socialist Youth of Serbia in Vojvodina, and secretary of the Socialist Youth of Serbia. He is a member of the SPS Main Board and vice president of the Provincial Board of the Socialist Party of Serbia in Vojvodina.

He has passed the State qualifying examination for the work in the state administration, obtained a certificate for the financial management and control system implementation, certificate of basic knowledge of stock exchange operations, as well as certificate of acquired knowledge in the field of leadership, communication, negotiation and lobbying.

In addition to his native Serbian language, he speaks English.

He is married and has one child.
