Vice-President Milivoj Vrebalov

Milivoj Vrebalov was elected the Vice- President of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina at the constitutive session of the Assembly on 22nd June 2012.

He is a member of the Democratic Party and member of the Deputies' Group Choice for Better Vojvodina in the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.

Biography

He was born in Novi Bečej on 12th May, 1966.

He graduated from the College of Vocational Studies in Belgrade – the study group of Finance, Accounting and Banking. He completed a professional training at the Joint Vienna Institute in Vienna, with Professor Vladimir Gligorov, PhD as his mentor. His graduation thesis was entitled "Public government and structural reforms".

In 2004, he was elected a councillor at the Municipality of Novi Bečej Assembly as a representative of a Citizens` Group, and in 2005, he joined the Democratic Party (DS). At the elections held in 2006, he was elected a President of the Municipality of Novi Bečej as a representative of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). He repeated this success at the following elections held in 2008 and 2012.  Also, in 2008, he was elected a provincial deputy based on the majority election system and in 2012, he was elected a provincial deputy and a Vice-President of the AP Vojvodina Assembly. In March 2013, he re-joined the Democratic Party (DS).

In 2010, he received the Second Best Mayor in Europe Award granted by the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats of Europe (ALDE) at the ceremony organised by the Committee of Regions (COR) held in Brussels. In addition to this, in 2010, he received the “Kapetan Miša Anastasijević“Award for developing the local self-government as the President of the Municipality of Novi Bečej. In 2012, he was decorated a Medal of Saint Teodor of Vršac with golden wreath by the Serbian Orthodox Church. He also received many certificates of merit from the Catholic Church, the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia, the Red Cross and many other non-governmental organisations for being the initiator of a large number of humanitarian actions. He is a great contributor to sport and culture.  He is a member of the Freidrich Naumann Fund which gathers liberal democratic parties and he is involved in the work of the Western Balkans Project Office.

In the period from 1990 – 2006, he was engaged in entrepreneurship, commerce and the production of construction material.

He has two sons, Matija and Emil.
