Salzburg/Novi Sad, 28 September - The AP Vojvodina Assembly Vice-President Aleksandra Maletić and Secretary General Sandra Stojković, PhD attended today, in the Austrian city of Salzburg, the opening ceremony of the 21st Europe Summit, organised by the Institute of European Regions (IRE).
This international forum has, for more than two decades, annually gathered representatives of European regions, cities, scientific and economic institutions, with the aim of discussing current issues regarding the European integration, regional cooperation and economic development.
“It is important for the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, to keep up with European processes and present its own experience and achievements within that framework. The Summit in Salzburg is an opportunity to discuss common challenges and development policies, but also to demonstrate that the Republic of Serbia and Autonomous Province of Vojvodina possess valuable experience and potential to share with European partners, particularly in the field of economic cooperation and regional development," stated Maletić.
The three-day Europe Summit will include plenary sessions and thematic panels addressing the challenges of demographic change, the future of European democracy, energy security, mobility, circular economy and other issues of strategic importance for European regions. In addition to political and academic debates, bilateral meetings are also scheduled, which will contribute to strengthening our province’s cooperation with partners from Austria and other European countries.
