Senta/Novi Sad, 9th October – President of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina Assembly, Bálint Juhász, attended today the “Suli-Expo” Education Fair in Senta, traditionally organised every year by the National Council of the Hungarian National Minority.
This fair event is intended for eighth-grade pupils attending primary schools where class instruction is conducted in the Hungarian language, as well as for their parents and representatives of educational institutions. It follows the well-known “Edu-Expo” held the previous day, the focus of which was to present secondary schools and student dormitories.
Welcoming the attendees, President Bálint Juhász emphasized the importance of education in the mother tongue as well as the significance of having a wide range of options regarding the further professional direction of children.
“Education is the foundation of every society and the key prerequisite for the personal development of every individual. It is especially important that young people have the opportunity to learn and progress in their mother tongue, as this not only contributes to better understanding of the curriculum but also to the preservation of the language, culture, and identity of the community to which they belong. Events like the Suli-Expo Education Fair provide a valuable opportunity for pupils and students to familiarise themselves with the possibilities available to them and to make decisions that will shape their future,” President Juhász stated.
He encouraged pupils and students to be curious and courageous in exploring their talents, parents to support them in choices that inspire them, and educators to continue dedicating themselves to imparting knowledge and nurturing a love of learning.
“Only through joint effort can we create a society where education is the most valuable capital of future generations,” said Mr. Juhász.
The fair was attended by over 1,200 pupils, students and teachers, as well as 24 exhibitors, the majority of which were grammar schools and vocational secondary schools where teaching was conducted in Hungarian. The event was also attended by Provincial Secretary for Education, Regulations, Administration, and National Minorities – National Communities, Róbert Ótott; President of the National Council of the Hungarian National Minority, Árpád Fremond; President of the Municipality of Senta, Hajnalka Burány; and numerous citizens.
