13. 10. 2025.Juhász at the European Parliament: About pre-accession funds and development opportunities of Vojvodina

Brussels/Novi Sad,  13 October - President of the Assembly of AP Vojvodina Juhász Bálint today paid a working visit to the European Parliament, with a focus on pre-accession funds and opportunities for financing development projects in Vojvodina.

During the visit, as part of the European Week of Regions and Cities, which was ceremoniously opened today, Juhász attended a lecture on financial instruments of the European Union, with particular emphasis on the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) – a key mechanism for supporting Serbia in its European integration process.

“The European Week of Regions and Cities is one of the most important events dedicated to cohesion policy, where regions, cities and decision-makers come together to address common challenges.  The motto ‘Shaping Tomorrow, Together’ underscores the importance of cooperation in creating the future of Europe,” Juhász emphasised.

He highlighted that the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina held significant development potential, particularly in agriculture, IT sector and innovation, and that through the EU pre-accession funds, strong support could be secured for harnessing these potentials.

President Juhász added that Serbia’s EU accession process should be accompanied by a fairer and more balanced approach, which adequately recognises past achievements and efforts.   He underlined that “full membership in the EU must remain a realistic and achievable perspective for Serbia, based on the principles of cooperation, trust and fair relations”.

In Brussels, Juhász also held discussions with Ms. Annamária Vicsek Member of the European Parliament, expressing gratitude for her unwavering support to Serbia’s European integration, as well as for her responsible representation of both Serbia’s and Hungary’s interests within her parliamentary work.
