Novi Sad/Bačinci/Martonoš, 21 October  – Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Dragan Glamočić PhD, President of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Bálint Juhász and Member of Parliament Bálint Pásztor PhD, visited today the companies “Superior Foods” in Bačinci and “Telek Paprika” in Martonoš, where they met with companies’ managements to discuss further advancement of agricultural production and the food industry in Vojvodina.

During the visit to the “Superior Foods” company in Bačinci, a new section of the poultry meat processing facility was officially opened where the modernisation of production and expansion of capacities was made possible through an investment of seven million euros by the investment group Hodler Asset Management from Hungary. This facility is the second-largest poultry slaughterhouse in Serbia, with a significant share in the supply of fresh and processed poultry meat through the country’s leading retail chains.

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Dragan Glamočić PhD emphasized that this was a significant Hungarian investment which, with the support of the Government of Serbia’s employment programme, had integrated a strong network of over 50 partners from across the country.

Member of Parliament and leader of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians, Bálint Pásztor PhD, highlighted that soon more than 300 people would be employed at this facility, and stressed the importance of Hungarian investments expanding to local self-governments where members of the Hungarian minority did not reside which was a testament to the strong strategic partnership between the two countries.

As part of the programme, a visit was also made to the company “Telek Paprika” in Martonoš, including a tour of its production facilities.

“Agriculture is the backbone of Vojvodina’s development and a sector in which we create new value, employment opportunities, and security for our producers.  Thanks to the strong friendship and partnership between Hungary and Serbia, we have created an environment in which the Prosperitati Foundation’s programmes, as well as direct Hungarian investments, have been successfully implemented for years, and not only in Vojvodina but across all of Serbia,” said President Juhász. He noted that “Telek Paprika” was one of the most successful regional processors of dried vegetables, paprika, and spices, exporting 90 percent of its production due to its high quality. He underlined that the companies in Bačinci and Martonoš employed over 500 workers and provided a livelihood for a large number of families in Vojvodina.

The visits were carried out with the goal of enhancing cooperation between the state, province, and business sector, with a special focus on new investment opportunities, job creation, and strengthening the competitiveness of the food industry. As highlighted, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina would continue to support projects and investors that contributed to sustainable development and agricultural progress.

In addition to the delegation from the Ministry and company representatives, the visit was also attended by State Secretary Attila Juhász and Deputy Provincial Secretary for Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, Zoltán Tóth .
