Novi Sad/Gunaroš - The President of the AP Vojvodina Assembly, Bálint Juhász attended today in Gunaroš the official handover of fire engine to the Gunaroš Volunteer Fire Department. The vehicle, with the total worth of 26,500 Euros, was jointly funded by the Municipality of Bačka Topola, Gunaroš Local Community and company “Perutnina Ptuj”, which operates its production facility in Bačka Topola.
Highlighting that this investment strengthens community capacities, President Juhász noted that the role of the volunteer fire fighters in Gunaroš and the surrounding areas is of utmost importance, since this is the nearest fire unit within a 25 km radius and carries out approximately 15 interventions annually in this area.
“The Gunaroš Volunteer Fire Department is the example of strength and dedication as it gathers about 100 members and has more than twenty working and skilled fire fighters. Their work with children and young people is especially valuable, as it systematically creates a new generation of responsible and well-trained people. That is why I sincerely thank all volunteers for the hours they devoted away from their families and for their courage and self-sacrifice. I hope there will be as few emergency call-outs as possible, but that every intervention will be successful and safe and that the new vehicle that we are handing over today will serve not only as a means of protection but also the as the symbol of unity that connects us”, said Juhász.
As he stated, the provincial administration has continually supported the volunteer fire departments as they represent an important pillar of local communities. Thus, support was provided this year to 36 departments in a total amount of 30 million dinars, while over the past six years, 140 million dinars have been allocated to improve their equipment and ensure their regular operations.
The ceremony was also attended by the President of the Municipality of Bačka Topola, Adrian Satmari, the President of the Volunteer Fire Department, Dora Šinkovič, representatives of “Perutnina Ptuj” company and the Gunaroš Local Community.
