Novi Sad, 8th February – President of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Bálint Juhász, and President of the Provincial Government, Maja Gojković, attended this evening the ceremonial marking of the 150th anniversary since the Serbian Red Cross was founded.
The central event of the jubilee celebration, held at the Serbian National Theatre, was a ballet gala concert organised under the high patronage of the President of the Provincial Government.
The programme featured the most renowned excerpts from the classical ballet repertoire, as well as works by contemporary choreographers, performed by principal dancers and soloists of the Serbian National Theatre’s Ballet.
The evening’s special guests were stars of the Hungarian State Opera Ballet in Budapest – Maria Yakovleva and Louis Scrivener.
During the ceremonial celebration of this major jubilee of the Serbian Red Cross, it was once again highlighted how important that institution was, that had stood as a symbol of humanity, solidarity and care for the most vulnerable, for a century and a half.
