Deputies

There are 120 deputies at the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, who are elected in direct elections, by secret ballot and proportional electoral system, for the period of four years.

The mandate of a deputy may expire before the end of the term they were elected to by: tendering their resignation, if they are sentenced to a non-suspended imprisonment in the duration of not less than six months by the effective court ruling, if they are deprived of their business capacity by the effective court ruling, upon assuming the position which, pursuant to the Law i.e. the Provincial Assembly Decision on Election of Deputies to the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, is incompatible with the deputy position, if their permanent residence ceases on the territory of the Province, by loss of their citizenship and by death. The mandate of the deputy which expired prior to the term they were elected to belongs to the electoral list they were elected from. That mandate shall be given to the next candidate on the electoral list for whom the party did not win the mandate.
