Vice-President Damir Zobenica

Damir Zobenica was elected the Vice-President of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina at the constitutive session of the Assembly held on July 31, 2020.
He is a member of the Serbian Progressive Party and a member of the Deputies’ Group “ALEKSANDAR VUČIĆ – FOR OUR CHILDREN” in the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.

Biography
He was born on 15 April 1981, in Pula.
He completed Grammar School “Svetozar Marković” in Novi Sad, graduated from Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad. During the studies, he spent half a year in the USA, attending “Work and travel” programme.
He entered the politics in 2008, as one of the founders of the Serbian Progressive Party in Novi Sad. He became a member of the Main Board of the Serbian Progressive Party in 2012 and the Vice-President of the Executive Board of the Serbian Progressive Party in 2014. He has been a member of the Presidency of the Serbian Progressive Party since 2016.
His first political office was in 2009, as the president of the local community office of Sremska Kamenica. Afterwards, he became a councillor in the Novi Sad City Assembly and in 2012, he was elected a deputy in the AP Vojvodina Assembly, based on the majority electoral system.
He held the position of an Advisor to the Mayor of Novi Sad in the period from 2012 to 2016..
In the 2016-2020 term of office, he was a deputy and the Vice-President of the AP Vojvodina Assembly with the list Aleksandar Vučić – Serbia is winning“.
He has been a member of the Managing Board of the Development Fund of AP Vojvodina, since 2016. He was a member of the Managing Board of PC “Poslovni Prostor” in Novi Sad, as well as a member of the Supervisory Board of “Free Customs Zone” in Novi Sad.
In the period 2016-2017, he was the Vice-President of the Committee 1 of the Assembly of European Regions, the largest network of European regions, which deals with the issues of the regional economic cooperation. In the period 2017-2019, he was elected the Vice-President of the Assembly of European Regions, in charge of diplomacy and Black Sea cooperation and in 2019 he was re-elected the Vice-President of the Assembly of European Regions, in charge of regional and economic development.
In addition to his native Serbian language, he speaks English and has a working knowledge of Italian language.
He is married, with two children.
